"This is another winery that has been ratcheting up their quality level. The two Crozes-Hermitage look-alikes, the 2003 and 2004 Syrah Bon Temp, are excellent. Both exhibit lovely black cherry fruit along with hints of cherries, herbs, licorice, and spice. They are soft enough to be drunk, or can be cellared for 4-5 years. The 2004 is slightly jammier. The dense 2004 Syrah Iris Bon Temp Vineyard displays notes of esporsso, cassis, and white chocolate in its full-bodied, dense, chewy style. It should frink well for 5-6 years. The 2004 Chateau Duplantier Cuvee possesses a deep, dark plum/ruby color as well as abundant quantities of dark berries, spice, and pepper characteristics followed by a velvety-textured, powerful, yet supple, savory wine with loads of Mediterranean sea breeze-like notes intermixed with black and red fruits. Drink it over the next 2-3 years."

"Rideau's 2004 Pinot noir Sanford & Benedict Vineyard exhibits aromas of sweet strawberries and cherries in its forceful, big, potently-scented bouquet. Medium to bull-bodied flavors with excellent fruit purity, texture, and harmony suggest this 2004 should be consumed over the next 3-4 years. The 2004 Chardonnay Reserve offers plenty of buttery oak along with hints of pears, peaches, and honeysuckle. It is a medium-bodied, ripe wine to enjoy over the next 12 months."
