 Dear Fellow Lovers of Life,
In 1995, I thought I was ready to retire from the fast-lane career I was leading in Los Angeles, so I moved to Santa Ynez Valley, California, thinking that I would begin a quiet life of golf and bridge. Six months after making that bold move, I realized that retirement was the furthest thing from my mind. Empowered with that realization, I embarked on a path that lead me to a life filled with all the joys that come from living your dreams. My journey began with the purchase of the 25 acre property adjacent to my home. On the property was a beautiful old, but neglected, Historic Adobe House built in 1884. For the next two years, I immersed myself in the restoration of this diamond in the rough. As the old house began to take on the character and style of the European architecture of the homes in my beloved New Orleans, I made the decision to keep it and share it with a larger circle of friends, who enjoy my same lifestyle. This labor of love expresses itself in the now famous Tasting Room of Rideau Vineyard. Here I am, in the best years of my life, entertaining friends and family, making Award-Winning wines, and pairing them with my Creole cuisines. Life doesn’t get much better than this!!
